Community Healthcare of Texas Announces the Appointment of Two New Members to its Board of Directors
Community Healthcare of Texas, the state’s largest not-for-profit hospice and palliative care provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Ray Sanders and DeShon Woods to its board of directors.
“It is an honor to serve with these talented leaders from our community,” shared Viki Jingle, Chief Executive Officer at Community Healthcare of Texas. “The professional experience Bob Ray and DeShon bring to the board, combined with their commitment to our mission, are a valuable asset to our organization as we navigate the changes in healthcare while continuing to provide the highest quality care to our patients and their families.”
Bob Ray Sanders’ journalism career spans more than four decades and three media: newspaper, television, and radio. In 2015 he retired as Associate Editor and Senior Columnist from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He has also served as vice president and station manager of KERA-TV and Professional in Residence in the Journalism Department of Texas Christian University. Bob Ray has received some of journalism’s most prestigious awards, including numerous film festival awards, Corporation for Public Broadcasting Awards, and a regional Emmy Award. In 2017, he was inducted into the National Black Journalists Association Hall of Fame.
DeShon Woods is vice president of Ambulatory Strategic Partnership Operations at Texas Health Resource (THR), where she is responsible for managing relationships between THR and key strategic partners. Since joining THR in 2009, DeShon has led operations oversight of 24 joint-ventured ambulatory surgery centers. Her portfolio also includes extensive experience in strategic planning, product marketing, and product development for the American Heart Association, VHA, Inc., and Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
